Born in Kars, Erol Mintaş has worked from short films towards features. His biography at the Academy of Moving People and Images, which he founded, introduces Butimar and Berf alongside the 2014 Song of My Mother and the later Earth Song project. It offers an entry into his approach to education and filmmaking as well as his films.
Returning to the shorts after Song of My Mother makes it possible to compare how the time available to a story changes its telling. Butimar and Berf are listed as starting examples. Earth Song is a later feature identified in the official biography; current screening and availability details should be checked separately.
