Why watch it?

Ali and his mother Nigar live in Tarlabaşı before urban transformation forces another move. Her wish to return to her village and a song recurring in her memory become part of everyday life in the new home. Sarajevo’s film record introduces the mother–son story through displacement and searching.

Watch how the song acts as a connection to places and people as well as music. Ali’s attempts to understand his mother suggest how generations inhabit different lives in the same city. Continue the song’s trail with Zer and recorded family memory with Voice of My Father.
