En garde
Sixteen-year-old Alice, whose hypersensitive hearing makes loud noises painful, is left by her mother at a Catholic children’s home. There she meets Berivan, a Kurdish girl waiting for the outcome of her asylum application; they take up fencing together and a friendship grows. Ayşe Polat’s film follows a fragile friendship through guilt and silence.
